ATTENTION HEADS OF SCHOOL: The REQUIRED AISA Annual
Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 21, 2010 beginning at 10:00
a.m. in the Recital Hall, located in Smith Hall (located behind the baseball
field) on the Huntingdon College Campus. Please try to arrange your schedule
for attendance, as a $100 fine will be levied on schools not represented
(reference Article III, Section 1, AISA Bylaws.) If you cannot attend the
meeting, select a person to represent you and your school. Note:
We have eight directorships to fill at the July 21, 2010 Annual Meeting.
ATTENTION
HEAD(S) OF SCHOOL: The Headmasters’ Association Meeting will be
held on July 21, 2010, from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (immediately
following the AISA Annual Meeting) at the Huntingdon College Russell Hall,
Stallworth Room. This will be a working/meeting lunch; therefore, lunch will be
provided. This meeting will be brief, but informative. A lunch count is
needed; therefore, notify Ceil Sikes, President of Headmasters’ Association /

Annual Athletic Meeting/Football Coaches' Rules Meeting will be on

to the AISA Athletic Handbook, schools failing to attend the state sponsored
clinic will be fined a minimum of $250.
ATTENTION COUNCIL COMMITTEE - There will be a
Council Meeting at the AISA office on Wednesday, July 21 at 1:15 p.m.
HEADMASTERS' ASSOCIATION DUES: The Headmasters' Association
dues of $50.00 per school is due. Please make check payable to AISA
Headmasters' Association and mail to Pike Liberal Arts School;
P.O. Drawer 329; Troy, AL; 36081 to the attention of Ceil Sikes, President
of the Headmasters' Association. Being a member of the Headmasters'
Association, qualifies you to have an applicant for the Headmasters' Association
Scholarship.
The AISA Chairman's Award has been established by
the AISA for the specific purpose of recognizing member schools that achieve
athletic excellence during the school year.

ALABAMA HIGH
SCHOOL GRADUATION EXAMINATION AS RELATED TO AISA DIPLOMA AND ATHLETIC
REQUIREMENTS: The
AISA policy has not changed. Since the State of Alabama has changed their
policy, then a senior student must have passed all required (by the state) parts
of the graduation exit test.
These required parts
include Reading and Math and one section of the three remaining sections.
ACADEMIC NOTES:
2010-2011 ORATORICAL CONTEST:
District Contests are scheduled for October 26, 2010, and the State
Contest is on November 1, 2010
at Huntingdon College, Smith Hall. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m.,
and the contest will begin at 10:00 a.m. This year's topic is
“What is the responsibility of British
Petroleum (BP) in the long term clean-up and economic restoration of the Alabama
Gulf Coast following the Deepwater Horizon incident?”
Standard
5x7 or 5x8 cards are acceptable for district and state oratorical contest.

HANDBOOK, GENERAL INFORMATION, PAGE 8--Note:
It is the responsibility of the school to notify
in writing the AISA
office of any ejection of a coach or player
within 48 hours. There
will be a $100.00 fine for failure to report ejections. A player or coach
ejected for conduct reasons from any playoff
and/or final game of the sports season will be
fined $250.00.
The 2009-2010 Gate Admission Fees: Regular season play, $5.00--- Tournament play, double headers, playoffs, all-stars, jamborees, and finals, $7.00 adults and $5.00 students—this excludes the Tripleheader (gate - $10.00). School tournaments, jamborees, and double headers, the $5.00 and $7.00 is maximum; schools may continue to charge $5.00 for those school sponsored competitions.

AISA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP PROGRAM:
The AISA does not sponsor an AISA state championship program below the level of
varsity athletics.
ATTENTION ATHLETIC
COMMITTEE: The next Athletic Committee Meeting is scheduled for
July 28 at
the AISA office at 10:00 a.m.
SPORTS OFFICIAL BILL AND SPORTSMANSHIP: Please announce
AISA Sportsmanship Statement and
Sports Officials Bill prior to each athletic event.
STUDENT-ATHLETIC TRANSFERS: The AISA Office must be notified
immediately in writing by receiving school of any student-athlete transferring
in from a member school. (Item 10, Letter E, Page 17 Athletic Handbook)
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS FOR 2009-10: Courses taken in summer
school shall be considered an extension of the school year and credits earned in
summer school may be used in determining scholastic eligibility of students.
Independent Study and tutorial type courses may not be used for athletic
eligibility purposes. ALL SUMMER SCHOOL WORK
AND approved correspondence/ON
LINE courses may be used for eligibility purposes but final
grades must be in and recorded on student's transcript five (5) days
on the Monday prior to the AISA’s
first third playing date
FOR FOOTBALL (September
7, 2009). A student is allowed a maximum of two (2) units in
summer school to establish eligibility for the fall semester. (2009 AISA Athletic Handbook, page 15)

a Christmas Basketball Tournament On December 17th and 18th. We are looking for
