AISA SGAs TO PARTICIPATE IN STATE WIDE BLOOD DRIVE-DATE TBA

SGA FALL WORKSHOP:
 
The SGA Fall Workshop will be held at Huntingdon College on Monday, September 13, 2010.  Registration will be from 9:30 until 10:00 a.m. in the lobby of Flowers Hall.  The $125.00 annual SGA dues will be collected at the registration table.  The meeting will be called to order promptly at 10:00 a.m. and will conclude by noon.  Important district meetings will be included in the program.  Each SGA sponsor may bring the 2010-11 officers to the workshop (up to 10 people, including the sponsor).  Appropriate attire for participants will be jeans and t-shirts (or other clothing that is normally worn to school).  T-shirts with the school or SGA logo will be great, but not required.

SGA Can-a-thon Rules and Return Sheet Once again the AISA SGA will be sponsoring a State-Wide Can-a-thon this year.  I hope that your SGA will join other SGAs from across the state that will be participating in this service project to help the needy. Cans may be collected until January 21, 2011.  The Return Sheet is due in the AISA office no later than February 2, 2011.

SGA SPRING CONVENTION--MAY 2, 2011 at Faulkner University with Registration at 8:30 a.m.  The AISA Spring Convention is scheduled for May 2, 2011.  The location is the Faulkner University Gymnasium.   Because of the size of the gym, your SGA is no longer limited in the number of members who may attend. 

Campaigning for State Office is from 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m. 

          
Each candidate may have 2 (two) wall posters – no larger than the poster board size. 
          There is no limit to the number of handouts. 

          
No gum or chewy skittles.  These items stick to the gym floor.
          There is to be no throwing of any items.
          Visual aids/props should only be used by the candidate at the podium during the speech.
          No audio visual aids
          The candidates’ speeches may be entertaining, but at least half the speech should be serious and reflect the
                 candidates’ desire to hold the office. 
          No audience participation during campaign speeches.
There is a 6 minute maximum time speech for candidates running for President and a 5 minute maximum time speech for the other offices.  The candidate may be the only one on stage during his/her speech.  No group speeches are allowed.  Dress for the Convention:  Sunday dress for Candidates.  Please refer to the AISA Student Appearance Policy.
