Basketball

Approved and effective immediately by the AISA Athletic Committee at the October 3, 2007 Meeting: 

  • The coaches’ box in basketball games is to be set at 14 feet. Vote unanimous. 
  • 30 Second Timeouts: Cheerleaders are not to perform on the playing floor during 30 second timeouts.

  • NO ARTIFICIAL NOISEMAKERS CAN BE USED DURING THE COURSE OF THE BASKETBALL GAME. REMINDER: THAT MEANS NONE! SEE AISA ATHLETIC HANDBOOK.

Cheerleading Policies Governing Game Performance

  1. The host school will designate cheerleading performance area(s) during the contest.
  2. Cheerleaders are not allowed to perform on the playing floor during live ball action.
  3. Cheerleaders are not allowed to perform on and/or behind the base lines during live ball action.
  4. Cheerleaders are not allowed to stand and block the fans opportunity to view the contest.     Cheerleaders may perform on the playing floor at halftime, between quarters and during full timeouts if the teams are off the floor.
