Position Overview: Principal at Evangel Christian Academy

All Faculty and Staff must attend a Bible-believing church and have earned a bachelor’s degree.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership & Oversight:
    1. Provide leadership for all curriculum-related matters and ensure the school’s accreditation is maintained and enhanced.
    1. Supervise the development and continuous improvement of the academic programs.
    1. Oversee the integration of technology advancements to enhance educational delivery.
    1. Counsel and discipline both elementary and high school students as needed.
  2. Academic Program Development:
    1. Coordinate periodic reviews of academic programs, working closely with faculty to develop and enhance the curriculum.
    1. Focus on the improvement of instructional practices and strategies to maintain educational excellence.
  3. Staff Management:
    1. Conduct regular staff meetings and ensure clear communication with all faculty and staff.
    1. Conduct annual performance reviews for all faculty and staff, providing constructive feedback.
    1. Supervise, evaluate, and provide ongoing guidance and support to all faculty and staff.
  4. Professional Development:
    1. Coordinate and implement professional development programs aimed at improving teaching skills and increasing academic qualifications for faculty.
    1. Work collaboratively with teachers to identify areas for growth and create actionable strategies for professional improvement.
  5. Parent & Teacher Communication:
    1. Serve as a key liaison between teachers and parents to address academic or behavioral concerns of students.
  6. Support Athletic Program:
    1. Collaborate with the athletic director to support the integration of academic programs with the athletic program, ensuring balanced development of students.

  • Decision-Making Speed: Ability to make rapid decisions with good judgment and common sense.
  • Community Engagement: Foster and maintain positive relationships with the Board, students, parents, and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree in education, administration or leadership is preferred.
  • Experience: Classroom teaching experience is preferred. Proven experience in educational leadership and administration is essential.
  • Skills: Computer literacy is required, with familiarity in educational technology and systems.
  • Leadership & Management: Proven ability to lead and manage people, ensuring effective execution of goals and initiatives.
  • Curriculum Development: Ability to enhance and build a structured, sustainable curriculum that meets the diverse needs of students.
  • Efficiency & Accountability: Strong track record of increasing capacity, accountability, and efficiency among administrative and professional staff.
