Middle School Teacher

The Lakeside School is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and student-centered Middle School  Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment,  demonstrate strong instructional skills, and support students’ academic, social, and emotional  development. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned to state standards
• Create a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment 
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom  activities 
• Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and staff to support school initiatives
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events 

QUALIFICATIONS 

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or Secondary Education or a related field
• Valid Alabama teaching certification preferred (or ability to obtain certification)
• Strong classroom management skills 
• Excellent communication and organizational skills 
• Commitment to academic excellence and character development 

Founded in 1968, The Lakeside School has provided a high-quality, college-preparatory education  to students in South Alabama for over five decades. Lakeside is a coeducational independent  school serving approximately 330 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through twelve and is  governed by a 12-member, self-perpetuating Board of Trustees. The school is accredited by AdvancEd and is a member of the Alabama Independent School Association. While non-sectarian, Lakeside places a strong emphasis on moral values and character development. 

The Lakeside School is located in historic Eufaula, Alabama, just minutes from the scenic shoreline  of Lake Eufaula. The area is known for its rich history, strong sense of community, and reputation  as a sportsman’s paradise, and it is conveniently located within a two-hour drive of the Gulf Coast  beaches. Eufaula is approximately 90 miles southeast of Montgomery, Alabama, and 40 miles  southwest of Columbus, Georgia.
